About Marathwada Shikshan Prasarak Mandal, Aurangabad.

The Marathwada region was under the influence of the Nizam of Hyderabad and the people were ignored. Later on, in accordance with the linguistic policies, Maharashtra was separated and in 1959, the Marathwada Shikshan Prasarak Mandal was established at Aurangabad, the central place of the Marathwada, which was possible due to the dedicated involvement of visionaris Hon. Shri Vinayakrao Patil and Hon. Shri V. R. Sawant .

The base of the establishment was and is still the same, to provide knowledge to the poor and ignorant. The motto ” तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय “, “let all proceed from darkness to light”, is the foundation of the institution. Following the motto and its mission, the foundation lead the path of progress for the society in the region with numerous colleges, schools and various types of career oriented courses offered in them.

Mandal has a big canopy offering quality education in Engineering and Management Science Colleges (02), Polytechnics, Pharmacy College (03), Law Colleges (02), College of Education (01), Arts, Science and Commerce Colleges (13), Higher Secondary Schools (40), Secondary Schools (56), Primary Schools (13), CBSE Pattern English Schools (06) and Total Staff (4,000), Total students (96,000), with wide spreaded campus in five districts
of Marathwada. It is the largest institution in the region striving for quality education. It has provided a widespread educational network seeking mass participation in education. It has celebrated its Golden Jubilee Year in 2008-2009.
