Department of mathematics began to work successfully from the establishment of the college since 1960 with the goal to give utmost importance to socially, economically marginalized sections of students. The objective of the department is that, student should recognize that mathematics is an art as well as powerful foundational tool of science with limitless applications.

• To give utmost importance to the socially, economically marginalized sections of students.
• To prepare a student such that, he/she is equipped with a positive frame of mind, has basic knowledge of mathematics with problem solving skills, should have the ability to explain the things logically, and above all, should have developed a balanced personality.
• To create interest among student’s about the mathematics.
• To eradicated the negative sensibility in students about the mathematics
• The primary mission of the Department is to provide high quality mathematics education to the students enrolled in our mathematical courses and to students in our general education courses.
• As a service to the College and University, it is a part of our mission to provide leadership and expertise in mathematics as necessary across the disciplines.
• To provide an environment where students can learn and become competent users of mathematics and mathematical application. Moreover, the department will contribute to the development of students as mathematical thinkers, enabling them to become life long learners, to continue to grow in their chosen professions, and to function as productive citizens.
• Upon completion of the prescribed programme of study in mathematics, the students should be able to:
