Balbhim College was founded at Beed in 1960. The college was established with the motto ‘Tamso ma Jyotirgamaya’ (From darkness to light) Dept. of Political Science began to work successfully in 1960 and in 1993 college started to offer P.G. in Political Science.

Miss. Malwankar B.M. was first HoD, then Dr. Jadhav A. S., Dr. Sanap V.G. & Dr. Tandale D. R. was fulfilled the responsibility. Presently Dr. R. K.Kale is Head of department. He has recognized P.G. Teacher and Research Guide and four Students doing research under his guidance. Department had celebrate Constitution Day, LokshahiPandharwada: “Lokshahi, NivadnukAaniSushasan”and voting awareness campaigning every year. Dr. R. K. Kale is district coordinator of “College Katta” event organized by government of Maharashtra.   

Department has organized three orientation Workshop under HREP and three National Level Seminar such as CISSI-2020, RMSS-2021 and GEE-2022.
